Funding your conference registration

There are sources you can explore to secure funds to pay for your conference registration fee


Employers will support CPD through their training budgets that are often held by the training/human resources department, however line managers may also have a discretionary training budget. For advice on how to make a business case to your employer, download our Business Case Template.

RCOT Regional Groups
Contact your local RCOT Region to explore opportunities to attend RCOT Annual conference. You can apply for a Life Long learning grant to help towards the cost of your conference ticket. You can also contact you region to see if they are offering other opportunities to attend conference. Visit your local Region’s webpage

Specialist Sections
If you are a member of a Specialist Section, there maybe funding support available to attend conference. Visit your Specialist Section web page to find out more.

All UNISON branches run an education and training programme which is available to all UNISON members. Most BAOT members are also members of UNISON (excluding self-employed or overseas members). Some UNISON branches have a small discretionary training fund to assist members to attend non-UNISON training courses and events, so contact your BAOT steward for information.

The Elizabeth Casson Trust
The Elizabeth Casson Trust offers continuing professional development grants. They welcome applications from any qualified occupational therapist in the UK. For more information visit the Elizabeth Casson Trust website.
